$7.5 Million – Pascagoula, MS
Services: Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, Construction Administration, General Arrangement, Interior Design and Life Safety
GSE partnered with White-Spunner Construction, Inc. to provide three new buildings to support Chevron's new $1.4B Pascagoula Base Oil Project (PBOP) expansion. The Learning and Performance Center (LPC) is 19,700 square feet in two connected buildings, the Training building and the Hands-On building. The LPC's Training building hosts computer and and video based training for all refinery personnel and includes classrooms, a video production suite and administrative offices. The Hands-On building hosts all training and testing for Chevron's skilled trade employees. The LPC buildings were pre-engineered steel clear span buildings on an elevated structural concrete slab supported on auger cast piles. The design included providing welding fume removal systems, overhead cranes and compressed air distribution. The Fabrication Shop is 8,750 square feet of shop space for all-weather steel and pipe fabrication work during plant shutdowns. The shop is a pre-engineered steel clear span building on a conventional shallow concrete foundation. The design included bridge cranes, jib cranes and compressed air distribution.

$30 Million – Axis, AL
Services: Structural, Civil, 3D Laser Scanning, Surveying, Construction Assistance
GSE scanned all installed equipment, pipework, and structural steel at AMVAC's existing site in Washougal, Washington. The 3d model created from the scan was utilized to relocate the entire plant to AMVACs plant in Axis, AL. GSE provided all civil site design, foundations, and platforms in support of the relocated plant and a new Tank Farm supporting the process equipment. Full-time onsite assistance was provided.
Services: Fire Protection, Structural
GSE provided clean agent, sprinkler, fire alarm systems and seismic support bracing for safety upgrades at several nuclear facilities operated by Duke Energy located in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Connecticut, Virginia, and Alabama.
Built in response to new regulations by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission in the aftermath of the Fukashima incident, the fire protection systems were installed in concrete domes designed to safely house vital equipment and remain protected against extreme weather, seismic, and blast conditions.
