With a construction budget of $7.6 million, GSE partnered with Forrest Daniell & Associates to provided mechanical, plumbing, electrical and structural design for the renovation of Phillips Preparatory school. Originally constructed in 1954, GSE’s scope of work included new cafeteria, kitchen, gymnasium and classrooms, along with full mechanical upgrade consisting of new air conditioning and central heating units, new plumbing, new roofs, new security doors and new technology infrastructure.
Buras, LA
Services: Fire Protection
Built with $40.3 million in FEMA funding, GSE provided fire protection design for South Plaquemines High School. The 150,000 square foot facility is a combination of two high schools which were destroyed after Hurricane Katrina. The high school includes 30 classrooms, a cafeteria, media center, gymnasium and auditorium. GSE also provided fire protection design for South Plaquemines Elementary School.
Baton Rouge, LA
Services: Electrical Engineering
GSE provided electrical engineering design for the LSU tennis complex. The 75,000 square foot complex features 12 lighted outdoor courts, six indoor tennis courts with grandstands for each, locker rooms, meeting and office spaces, players’ lounge, equipment room, and various other amenities. Constructed in 2015, LSU Tennis Complex has a seating capacity of 550 and hosted the 2016 SEC Women’s tennis tournament.
Lake Charles, LA

GSE partnered with Holden Architects to provide mechanical, electrical, and fire protection design for the renovation of Holbrook Student Union at McNeese State University. Holbrook Student Union, originally constructed in 1956, houses student dining area, career services, computer lab, bookstore and various other offices. Renovation included the addition of major restaurant names such as Chick-fil-A and Starbucks to the student dining area.

GSE partnered with Zito Russell Architects to provide mechanical, fire protection and electrical design for a six building, 95,000 square foot, renovation at the upper school campus. GSE’s scope of work included upgrading existing classrooms, biology/chemistry labs, offices, band facilities, gym, computer lab and library. The upgrades outlined for new HVAC, plumbing, lighting and electrical panels to all buildings, along with cafeteria equipment upgrades.
Kerrville, TX

GSE partnered with Holden Architects to provide mechanical, electrical, and fire protection design for the renovation of Schreiner University dining hall. The renovations included the addition of new vendors within the dining hall such as Starbucks, Blue Belle, Pollo, Mondo Subs and Wraps.
$10 million - Gulfport, MS
Services: Fire Protection and Electrical
The $10 million structure, which will serve as the marine operations and research facility for USM’s School of Ocean Science and Technology. This unique two-story building will encompass nearly 18,000 square feet. Upon completion, it will be the principal marine operations and support facility for USM’s oceanographic research efforts. The building will include administrative offices, classrooms, laboratories and storage areas.
Gulf Shores, AL

GSE partnered with McCollough Architecture to provide mechanical, electrical and fire protection design for the 3-story headquarters of Columbia Southern University. The 67,000 square foot facility houses offices, classrooms, and meeting rooms.
Mobile, AL

GSE was responsible for mechanical, electrical, plumbing engineering design for a 25,000 square foot renovation of the existing engineering lab building at USA. The design included plumbing design for a wave pool for the study of wave action on coastal regions. Revisions and additions to the existing HVAC, including the chilled/hot water loops and controls, were required. GSE also provided fire alarm design for the project. Plumbing design included routing plumbing water from an adjacent building. Additionally, GSE provided mechanical and electrical design of the 3,000 square foot Intramural fieldhouse and the Marx Library.
$4.5 Million - Eight Mile, AL
Services: Surveying, Structural and Civil Site Design
University of Mobile is a private Baptist university which has seen rapid growth since its inception in 1952. This growth has warranted the addition of new residence halls. GSE provided engineering design for the 96-bed apartment style residence hall, The Timbers. GSE’s scope of work for the 55,000 square foot building included surveying, structural and civil site design. In addition, GSE has also completed an ALTA survey of the 375 acre campus, and designed mechanical and electrical upgrades to the Sports Medicine facility.
