Structural Designer II
Qualifications
Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Structural Designer or related position. Bachelor’s or associate Degree in related field preferred.
Experience
Experience must include the following: 5 years of experience as a Structural Designer in the manufacturing industry; experience designing and developing drawings for complex equipment foundations and steel framing; experience performing interference checks and coordinating drawings with other disciplines; knowledge of applicable Building Codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC); proficient with AutoCAD and Excel. Knowledge of Building Information Modeling utilizing REVIT required.
Duties
- Perform design from concept to implementation
- Perform research to back up design
- Perform engineering documentation
- Perform other items as directed by a senior engineer or discipline lead
Responsibilities
- Ensure project documents are accurately prepared
- Have extensive knowledge of common software programs
- Organizing and maintaining existing engineering records
- Ensure design components adhere to applicable industry standards
- Ensure work product is checked/approved by a senior engineer or discipline lead
- Ensure work products meet project requirements
- Ensure work is completed on or before scheduled milestones including coordination and approvals
- Ensure work is completed within assigned budgets
- Attention to detail
- Mentoring designers and drafters
- Relay apparent training needs to department manager
