At Gulf States Engineering, the FP Engineering Department is a powerhouse of expertise and experience. Our team of fire protection engineers and code officials brings a wealth of knowledge from diverse sectors including commercial, government, and heavy industrial operations. With a solid foundation in both active and passive fire protection systems, we have successfully designed water-based and non-water-based suppression systems, networked fire alarm systems, life safety systems, code consulting, and modeling.
The Code Compliance staff at GSE is no exception to our high standards. Comprising former municipal code officials certified by the ICC, our team excels in code review, facility inspections, and designing solutions for complex code issues. Our collective experience extends to industrial high-hazard occupancies, performance-based concepts, as well as passive fire protection/life safety systems.

Our LEED experience includes projects such as the Tuskegee Airmen Museum and National Historical Sites for the National Parks Services. Project experience includes both new construction and renovation of existing buildings.
Airbus Military
Airbus Military enlisted GSE on two separate occasions to provide fire protection design. The preliminary project consisted of the addition of a 26,000-square-foot hangar and office space. The exterior scope included water supply, underground utilities to the building and fire hydrants. The interior scope included a fire sprinkler, high-expansion foam and hose stations for the hangar. The fire alarm system design included releasing panels, detection and notification features. The second project consisted of an 8,000-square-foot expansion to a workshop and offices in the component repair area.
